UpToDate - access to a key clinical decision support resource

The library has subscribed to UpToDate, a highly regarded point-of-care and clinical decision support resource for medical research. UpToDate provides access to the best evidence and information, on desktop computers or via mobile devices.


Students can learn more about medical conditions and explore treatment options using UpToDate, the same resource trusted by more than 1.7 million clinicians around the world.

Other valuable benefits of UpToDate include:

  • supporting Research and Development for reviewing medical issues and treatment regimens during pharmaceutical R&D
  • enablling evidence-based research within epidemiology and treatment standards for diseases
  • informing clinical trials.

UpToDate also covers topics of value to researchers, such as undersea and aviation medicine.

On-site access

You can access UpToDate onsite or via the VPN. You will be automatically logged in while using a Lancaster PC or while on WiFi.

Mobile access

You can register for the UpToDate app that works on Apple, Android and Amazon devices. Find more information on the UpToDate website. You will need to register on the UpToDate website with your e-mail and a password. Please note you cannot log in using your Lancaster account.
