This interactive workshop is ideal for PhD students new to Lancaster University.
Learn everything you need to know to get started using the Library, including how to navigate your way round the online and physical library, access electronic resources, learn about the services available through the Library and be introduced to the teams here to support you.
The session is open to students across disciplines, and therefore will be generic in content.
The course will introduce you to:

What the Library has to offer and how it works

How to use OneSearch, the Library catalogue, to find electronic and print resources

Library Subject Guides – a good starting point for discipline specific Library resources

Finding and accessing past theses
By the end of this course you should be able to:

Find your way around the physical and online Library

Use OneSearch to find what you need and manage your account

Borrow, renew and request an item

Navigate around your Subject Guide

Identify specialist resources for your discipline

Access past theses to support your research
