Want to find out more about the wellbeing support available at Lancaster?
Join us at this online event to meet staff from the College Advisory Teams, College Welfare Officers, the Counselling and Mental Health team & the Transitions Team. They will tell you about the services and support that they deliver and how you can access the support available whether you are on campus or accessing services online. They will also explain how the teams operate and work together and form part of a joined-up student support model at the University for undergraduate and postgraduate students..
The event will include presentations and time for Q&A
The College Advisory Teams (CAT) are here to provide pastoral welfare support to all students affiliated with their College. Students can contact their CAT or the Grad College team at any point for support or someone to talk to about any aspect of life at Lancaster, such as homesickness, wellbeing, money worries, personal problems, or any other issues. College Advisors are a ‘friendly face’ and can help with a variety of issues as well as signpost to other services.
The College Wellbeing Officers are part of the Counselling and Mental Health Service and work within the Colleges to provide mild to moderate mental health support to students, including CBT-based symptom management support for anxiety and depression.
The Counselling and Mental Health Service are a short-term service and aim to support students by helping them manage any problems or issues so they can continue with their studies. The service has different levels of support, and different provisions and therapies available, to help support students depending on what they need. As well as the College Wellbeing Advisors there are Counsellors, Mental Health Advisors, and our Student Wellbeing Coordinator who offers wellbeing support for students affected by an incident.
The Transitions Team offer pastoral support to help you to settle in, connect with others, and look after your wellbeing. They run regular events including Wellbeing Walks, Tea and Chat and a weekly Trivia quiz, as well as support through peer and group mentoring.
