Systematic Review Methodologies are no longer the exclusive domain of the Health Evidence Specialist or Clinical Librarian, but are increasingly being applied to various aspects of research and assessment.
Gem Sosnowsky (Faculty Librarian - Teaching) and John Barbrook (Faculty Librarian - Content) will discuss the developments made at Lancaster University supporting these changes.
Gem will introduce changes made within the SSM (Special Skills Modules) for Undergraduate Medical Students, which now include Systematic Review methods to assess learning, teach valuable skills, and embed good research practices with students at a pivotal early stage in their careers.
John will also discuss future moves in embedding good practice with ‘Systematic Review Naïve’ researchers, who are undertaking scoping and integrative reviews, with a greater focus on non-journal content in non-health topics such as business or the humanities.
Both talks will introduce the importance of key information skills, ensuring that students and researchers have a ‘systematic’ core to their practice.
Presenters:
John Barbrook is Faculty Librarian - Content for the Faculty of Health & Medicine and Faculty of Science and Technology at Lancaster University.
Gem Sosnowsky is Faculty Librarian - Teaching & Learning for the Faculty of Health & Medicine at Lancaster University.
