University Zen Meditation Group - each week we meditate together and explore different aspects of its practice. All are welcome. Intro meditation instruction for first-timers is available before each meeting, 4.40pm - 5pm.
The meditation practice we follow, called Zazen, helps us live in a more connected, authentic and centred way. We learn to sit still with an open and alert mind, accepting thoughts and feelings that arise without judgementalism, and without getting caught up in them. This can be transformative, and open a more inclusive and rounded perspective in our life. The group helps encourage our meditation practice and enhance our understanding of it. Our style of practice emphasises that meditative awareness can be helpfully integrated with everyday daily life.
No previous experience is necessary. Free of charge. Newcomers are welcome in any week. The group continues to meet on the same basis each Wednesday at the same venue and time in each week of term.
