In discussing his poster, titled ‘Spatio-temporal threshold selection for induced seismicity’, Conor stated: “My poster describes our method for constant threshold selection in extreme value analysis. The method is developed from the approach of Varty et al (2021) in the selection of a time-varying threshold for use in the specific context of modelling anthropogenic earthquakes. The poster also describes our current work in extending this to a spatio-temporal threshold to incorporate both changes in data-quality over time and the spatial variability in the sensitivity and density of the sensor network used to record these earthquakes.”

Remarking on the prize, Conor said, “I’m so delighted and grateful to have received the award for best poster at the RSC 2022 conference. Thank you to the organisers of the conference, and thank you to my supervisors for all their help.”
