Enquiries

Please read the following if you are concerned about our use of data.

We maintain a record of enquirers' names and contact information in order to be able to log their enquiries and provide a relevant and timely response, and to be able to analyse enquiries data to improve our service.

If you are a student at Lancaster, you have already given the University permission to maintain a complete personal record, including your year and programme of study. As University staff members, we have access to these records and access them in order to analyse engagement data to improve our service.

Sign-ins

If you visit us or attend one of our events, we may ask you to 'sign in' - physically or digitally - and to provide your name, email, address and a signature. Historically this was a contractual requirement of our public funding in order to prove that a) we delivered what we claim to have delivered, and b) people we claimed to have attended something actually did so.

Photographs, video and audio recordings

We regularly take photographs and videos at our events, online and in-person, for the purposes described above. We may also use the content we capture for publicity purposes, such as for social media. If you do not wish to be photographed, filmed or recorded, please inform a member of the team before or during the event and we will respect your wishes.

Ongoing communications

When you engage with our service, you are granting us permission to ensure that we can continue to provide you with information we deem relevant to your needs or interests. This may be in the format of our regular e-newsletter, directly by personalised email, or through other digital channels where you can be reached, e.g. via posts in our online community space in MS Teams.

Typically the content will be information about upcoming events & activities, links to information and opportunities, and stories from our student entrepreneurs and innovators that are relevant to you. If you are added to a mailing list and do not wish to receive this information, you are free to unsubscribe at any time.
