This is a workshop organised by CHERE@LU for doctoral students at the Educational Research Department.
Theory can be a divisive and intimidating issue for PhD students, and selecting a theoretical framework can be a milestone for a doctoral research project. But what does it mean to say that your project has a particular theoretical framework? How might you use (or not use) theory throughout your project? And how can you make your choices clear to others? The answers will be different for each PhD project, and no universal prescription will be provided. Instead, we will consider a range of potential roles for the theoretical framework, look at examples of how others have used their framework in different ways, and consider how you might come up with and justify your own solution in a way that meets your own preferences and fits your own project.
Workshop will be held by Dr Brett Bligh.
This event will be run fully online. Registration is necessary.
