What do you know about hate crime and its legal and academic definitions? Have you experienced or witnessed hate crime on our campus? Do you know that anybody in the UK who witnesses an incident that they perceive as a hate crime can report this to the police? And why was the murder of George Floyd not defined as a hate crime by the public prosecutor?

Furness College are pleased to invite Dr Thaddeus Müller who teaches and studies hate crime at the Law School (Criminology). He will discuss legal and academic definition of hate crime and how they relate to the murder of George Floyd and is very open to any questions you may have.

The event is being held on campus and the room will be confirmed upon bookings.
