Event Details

Join us for a discussion about the developing university AI strategy and what it means for research. This is an opportunity to share experiences and help shape a thoughtful and responsible approach to AI across the university.

Join Professor Jo Rycroft-Malone - PVC for Research & Enterprise, and Professors Nigel Davies and Chris Nemeth - Co-Directors of the Data Science and AI Institute (DSAIL) for a discussion about the developing university AI strategy and what it means for research. We will share the key building blocks of the emerging strategy, including areas of particular relevance to the research community.

There will also be opportunity for colleagues to share their experiences, explore emerging challenges and discuss how AI is shaping research across the university, including, for example,

  • Research integrity and practice: The implications of AI-assisted writing, analysis and problem-solving, including for doctoral research.
  • Peer review and research quality: The implications of using AI for writing research proposals and publications, and for peer review.
  • Developing our approach: How departments are responding, what support researchers need, and where we should focus our collective attention.

This is an opportunity to share experiences, learn from one another and help shape a thoughtful and responsible approach to AI in research across the university.
