Dr Charlotte Barlow (co-I) has been jointly awarded funding with Professors Pam Davies and Mike Rowe, Northumbria University, to evaluate the new 'Multi-agency Risk Reduction, Assessment and Coordination' (MARRAC) process at Lancashire Constabulary. This funding was awarded by Lancashire Constabulary, following a competitive tender.

MARAC's are well established throughout England and Wales and incorporate a holistic approach, assessing high risk cases of domestic abuse involving the victim/ survivor, perpetrator, and children. A new MARRAC process is currently being rolled out across Lancashire, which aims to more effectively gather and assess information related to high risk domestic abuse cases. The evaluation will involve analysing the extent to which the core aims of the new MARRAC process are effectively being met.

The project began early 2021 and will last for approximately 15 months.
