Abdul-Rehman Malik (Yale) gives the Department's 8th Annual October Lecture on Literature and Religion --his topic: "A Malignant and Turban’d Turk: Interrogating Muslim Manhood in a Time of Mass Death" Lecture followed drinks reception

Taking his title from Shakespeare’s Othello, Abdul-Rehman Malik explores depictions of the Muslim man as an embodiment of social danger and political disruption.

This lecture is the Department's annual "welcome" lecture, taking place in Lancaster's beautiful medieval Priory, and with meet-and-greet drinks reception to follow.
