Why recruit from LUMS

At LUMS Careers, we support organisations of all sizes to connect with skilled, globally minded students who are ready to make a difference. Whether you're recruiting for graduate roles, placements, internships, or projects, we offer a tailored, strategic approach to help you find the right talent.

Our students offer more than academic ability. Many bring international experience, multilingual skills, and a strong understanding of the workplace through placements, internships, and live consultancy projects. They’re well prepared, adaptable, and ready to contribute from day one.

We also understand that every organisation has its own priorities. That’s why we offer a flexible and collaborative approach to employer engagement, whether you're joining us on campus or connecting online.

How you can get involved?

Promote your vacancies, free of charge

  • Advertise graduate roles, internships, placements, and insight opportunities through CareersConnect -Lancaster University’s online jobs board, where you can post and manager your vacancies and events for our students and recent graduates to engage with.
  • Have your own employer profile on CareersConnect to manage events and vacancies aimed at students.
  • Feature your roles on digital screens across the Management School and in targeted student communications, including Teams, Moodle, social media and email.
  • Reach students through newsletters and partnerships with relevant student societies.

Build your campus presence

  • Join one of our flagship LUMS Careers Fairs or Asia Careers Fairs to meet students looking for graduate roles, placements, and internships.
  • Host a recruitment event, drop-in, or networking session in our modern facilities.
  • Deliver a talk, run a workshop, or join a themed panel discussion.
  • Raise your profile further by sponsoring key student events or careers initiatives.

Lead a skills workshop or talk

Help students develop essential employability skills while showcasing your organisation. Topics might include:

  • CV and application tips
  • LinkedIn and networking
  • Mock interviews or assessment centres
  • Professional behaviour in the workplace

Connect with student societies

  • We work closely with over a dozen student-led societies across areas like consulting, entrepreneurship, finance, and marketing.
  • They offer a great way to reach engaged students through co-hosted events and niche challenges.
