About our placements
A key aim of our degrees is to prepare students for a career in management through a strong focus on theory as well as practice. LUMS students are encouraged to undertake work experience while studying in order to enhance their professional expertise, apply their academic learning in the workplace, and explore potential graduate careers. To enhance their experience, placements should involve genuine responsibility for students to develop their skills and knowledge.
The students can enhance your workforce by bringing enthusiasm, energy, curiosity, up-to-date expertise, diversity and motivation to a wide variety of roles and sectors worldwide. The benefits to the business include skilled expertise such as analytics, finance, and marketing; refreshing existing practices such as introducing new processes; and using recently developed knowledge to analyse current practices. Many of our undergraduate placement students study our general management degrees, but some also come from more specialised areas, including:
- Accounting and Finance
- Business Analytics
- Business Management
- Economics
- International Management
- Marketing Management
- Management and Entrepreneurship
- Management and Human Resources
- Management and Information Technology
- Mathematics, Operational Research, Statistics and Economics (MORSE)
We take care of all the finer details to facilitate, monitor and coordinate all our placements so that you can concentrate on maximising the benefits of our students' expertise and fresh perspectives. Employers regard our high-calibre students as capable, highly motivated and commercially aware, and their placements are often one of the highlights of their studies.
