What is the LUMS Case Competition?
The inaugural Lancaster University Management School (LUMS) Case Competition aims to encourage students to engage in enquiry and apply their theoretical knowledge to provide a solution to a real-life "problem," and to connect their academic learning with skills for the workplace.
Students must first register to participate in the Case Competition. This Case Competition is open to all Lancaster University undergraduate and postgraduate students. It is recommended that you apply as soon as possible if you are interested. If the quota for the number of teams is met, the application may close early.
LUMS Careers has partnered with the following student societies: Business Consultancy Society (BCS), Consulting Society, McCormick Consulting, and the Lancaster University Investment and Finance Society (LUIFS).
How does the Case Competition Work?
Participants will be given a case to review. During registration, teams will select their preferred times to meet as a team to review the case and prepare their presentation as well as when to present their solution to the panel of judges. Shortlisted teams will be announced and all teams will be invited to the Plenary & Networking session later in the evening. The shortlisted teams will present a summary of their presentations, the panel of judges will formally introduce themselves, and prizes will be awarded
