The Department of Educational Research at Lancaster University and the Leibniz Center for Science and Society (LCSS) at the Leibniz Universität Hannover, Germany have signed a letter of intent to develop future forms of research cooperation. With mutual interests in developing academic and scholarly collaboration and exchange, they seek to:

  1. Establish ties of friendship and cooperation.
  2. Promote mutual understanding, academic collaboration, institutional and personal exchanges.
  3. Work towards joint research and further agreements.

The signature marked the end of an excellent event, the Educational Research Department’s International Visitors' Week, which was held between the 1st and 5th July 2019. We welcomed Professor Alejandra Boni Aristizabal (La Universitat Politècnica de València, Spain), Professor Lynn Fendler (University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA) and Professor Anna Kosmutzky (Leibniz Universität Hannover, Germany) who all contributed to our one-day symposium entitled “Research, teaching and learning across disciplinary frontiers”. Our visitors also gave individual research seminars and were active contributors to our annual “Work in progress” day for research students.
