Health Cluster

The Health Research Cluster aims to facilitate and promote scholarship and scientific debate relating to health (broadly interpreted to encompass a diversity of topics including bioethics, mental health and national and international health law and policy). The Cluster is committed to supporting collaborative research between academics from a wide range of disciplines, including health economics, history, linguistics, medicine, philosophy, politics, and sociology, as well as law and criminology. We aim to develop projects between multiple academic departments and institutions, as well as with non-academic partners.

Cluster Coordinator: Dr Mary Guy

Refugee Studies Cluster

The Refugee Studies Research Cluster has been set up to advance scholarship and scientific debate on refugee protection and the rights of asylum seekers. The Cluster is committed to promoting collaborative research between academics from a wide range of disciplines including economics, geography, psychology, history, politics, sociology, international relations, and law. We aim to develop projects between multiple academic departments and institutions.

The members of our cluster have extensive expertise in a variety of topics concerning the rights of refugees and asylum seekers regionally, nationally, and internationally.

We are currently exploring, among other topics, the humanitarian, political and social implications of policies devised to externalise refugee protection and the securitisation of asylum policies.
