All students in Lonsdale College are part of the Junior Common Room (JCR). The JCR Executive (or 'Exec') are the body of students who are elected by you to be the voice of students in the College. They also organise numerous charity and social events, including the annual Winter Ball, days out, film nights, and the summer Extrav.

We're here for you throughout your time at Lancaster. We have a team of Welfare Officers and College Advisors who are here to support you and offer support and guidance. You can also access the University counselling team, and other support services via ASK.

Financial Support
We offer short-term College Loans of up to £100 for those Lonsdale students who find themselves in need. These can be made available on the same day as they are agreed but must be repaid within six weeks to the cashiers' office in University House. If you do find yourself in a situation whereby you require a loan, please contact the College Manager Julie in the first instance to discuss it.
The Lancaster Opportunity and Access Fund (LOAF) is designed to help students who may require extra financial support and are assessed on financial need. Any award from the fund is given as a grant and is non-repayable. Full details of all financial support awards can be found on the University Student Funding page.
Travel AwardsEvents and activities
There are loads of events you can get involved with throughout the year, from sporting events and bar sports to inter-college competitions including the Sustainability Challenge and Inter-College Quiz.
