APPLY NOW!
Thanks to the National Lottery Community Fund, Our Bay Our Future partner, University of Cumbria is launching the first year of Green Fellowships.
The year long fellowship, starting October 2026, aims to equip Green Fellows with the climate and place-based knowledge and leadership skills needed to support translation of climate awareness into action in your setting. Each fellow will receive high quality CPD, be invited on a fully funded residential, gain one to one mentorship and the funding needed to bring your climate action ideas to life alongside the young people you work with. As a group, the 10 fellows will have opportunities to network, share ideas and challenges along the way, all with the support of experienced staff at the University of Cumbria.
Sessions will develop skills, values and knowledge amongst new leaders for climate action and sustainability and will have a place-based focus celebrating Morecambe Bay. They will be linked to an aspect(s) of climate action planning, for example, adaptation, biodiversity, climate education, green skills development, methods of engagement and place-based learning and might include the causes, impacts, mitigation, adaptation and resilience of climate change. They will include active participation, discussion, sharing and some theoretical underpinning. The programme is devised and led by Heather Prince, Professor in Outdoor and Environmental Education and links strongly into the Morecambe Bay Curriculum, which is supported by Lancaster University, Lancaster and Morecambe College and Eden Project.
