About the MBC Green Working Groups

Over the next 2 years, members of each of the 6 Green working groups will be supported to work collaboratively, to explore what climate action looks like in education phases, from Early Years to FE, Special Educational Needs and Disabilities and Alternative Provision (including home education). Check out our MBC resources pages, for examples!

Time Commitment

This 2year project begins in February 2027 and culminates in January 2029,

Your commitment would include.

  • Attend 2 half day CPD sessions (supply cover and travel costs provided)
  • Attend 1 online 90minute twilight per half term, hosted by MBC, hear from experts providing information and insight to develop your climate action themed project, and network.
  • Work collaboratively with Group members, on-line and in-person (travel and refreshment costs provided for in-person meetings) to create resources/projects (£3000 funding per Green Working Group)
  • Trial your group’s resources/projects within your education setting, to inform final development.
  • Share resources/projects to with the education community at the MBC conference.

Who can join an MBC Working Group?

Majority of Green Working Group members will be practising teachers, educators and youth workers. Some members will be working at charities, local government, in Higher Education, retired colleagues or those from other organisations that support the educational sectors above.

The areas we class as being in and around Morecambe Bay include Barrow and Furness, Westmorland and Lonsdale, Morecambe and Lunesdale, Lancaster and Wyre, Fylde, Blackpool North and Fleetwood. If you work on the borders of these areas, we'd still like to hear from you.
