In our shared facilities accommodation, 8 students normally share toilet, shower and kitchen facilities in each flat. Our ground-floor flats are shared between 7 students.

In our en-suite accommodation, the majority of flats have 8 students sharing the kitchen facilities. There are a few smaller flats of 4 and 6 students.

Our studios are self-contained. We do not have communal areas in our studio accommodation for socialising – for this reason, we would advise first year students not to apply for a studio unless they have a particular need to live in self-contained accommodation.

For the 2025/26 academic year, our prices are as follows:

Shared facilities: £142.52 per week

En-suite: £196.63 per week

Single studio: £230.30 per week

Twin studio: £260.75 per week

Our contracts are 40 weeks.

All bedrooms offer a bed (with under-bed storage), a desk, wardrobe, drawers, noticeboard, shelves and a desk chair. The rooms are carpeted. In our shared facilities flats, the bedrooms have blinds at the window. In the en-suite accommodation and studios, we have curtains.

Bedrooms in shared facilities flats have a washbasin/vanity unit and mirror. The shared facilities comprise two toilets per flat, and two shower rooms per flat.

En-suite bedrooms have their own tiled wet room with shower, washbasin and mirror, and WC.

Studios have their own tiled wet room with shower, washbasin and mirror, and WC. They also have a kitchenette comprising a combination microwave oven, fridge with freezer compartment, a two-ring hob, extractor hood with light, sink and draining board, shelves, a small kettle and washing up bowl. There is also a dining table and two chairs in the room.

Our shared facilities and en-suite accommodation have shared kitchens. There is a dining table and chairs, cookers and a microwave, a kettle and a toaster, fridges, freezers, and plenty of cupboard space.

A vacuum cleaner, ironing board and iron are also provided, along with a dustpan and brush, and a mop and bucket.

Please note that all hobs are electric. We do not have induction hobs.

In our shared facilities accommodation, the mattresses measure 210 x 90 x 15cm.

In our en-suite accommodation, the mattresses measure 190 x 90 x 24cm.

In our single studios, the mattresses measure 190 x 120 x 18cm.

In our twin studios, each mattress measures 190 x 90 x 18cm. The two single beds can be pushed and zipped together to create one mattress measuring 190 x 180 x 18cm.

Campus accommodation for second/third years is limited, but each college has a proportionate amount available each year for returning students. We publicise our application process after the annual November Housing Fair. Where demand exceeds supply, those entering their final year are given priority.

The first thing you need to do is visit the annual housing fair, which takes place every November on campus. Here you can get all the help you need, as well as meet approved landlords from around the city. This will be advertised a few weeks beforehand.

The Lancaster University Homes approval scheme collects together all the landlords and properties that have the backing of both universities and the city council, so their website is the best place to start your search and to proceed with peace of mind.
