Career Mentoring

The popular Lancaster Career Mentoring Programme is once again open for applications from 9am on Wednesday June 10th to 5pm on Wednesday July 8th.
The aim of the Programme is to match students with someone in a career or industry that interests them. Even if they have no idea what they’d like to do eventually, there are generalist mentors who are able to help.
Professional mentoring costs in the UK are very expensive. You could expect to pay about £600 for a 6 month mentoring partnership if sourcing support privately. This Programme removes the financial barrier entirely.
Students can receive an insight into working life, bespoke career & personal development, increased knowledge and confidence and improved chances in an increasingly competitive graduate labour market.
The mentoring year runs from late October to May. Please check initially if you’re eligible to apply for the Programme. You can apply if you are a:
- First year (who will be in their second/penultimate year when receiving mentoring)
- Second and penultimate year student (who will be in their third or final year when receiving mentoring)
- Final year student who will be studying a Masters at Lancaster (who will be a Lancaster Masters student when receiving mentoring).
- Current Masters and PHD students are unfortunately NOT eligible to apply.
Once you’ve checked that you are eligible to apply, please visit –

This page contains the link to the application form, a recorded presentation about the Programme to answer any questions you might have and a few mini videos from some of last year’s mentees, sharing why they think it’s worthwhile being part of the Programme.
I hope to receive your application soon and welcome you onto the Lancaster Career Mentoring Programme later this year.
