A yoga practice to calm the stress response
Since physical and mental health are intertwined, if we relieve the stress that accumulates in our bodies in response to incessant thoughts and worries, our bodies will put the brakes on sending alarm messages to our brain that something is wrong. If after a stressful situation or event we spend some time moving our bodies it will be easier for us to return to a state of balance. In Friday’s session, we’ll practice a flowing vinyasa to release any built-up energy in our systems to help return to a state of inner balance. Our pranayama this week will focus on Nadi Shodhana (alternate nostril breathing) to calm our nervous systems and induce a sense of wellbeing. Join the Yoga Community Team for the Zoom link. Classes are suitable for absolute beginners to those who already practice.
Classes are FREE to Lancaster University students and £2 for University staff and their families
