Dr Sue Cranmer and Dr Janja Komljenovic have contributed to an exciting new book of essays published by the Digital Futures Commission. Education Data Futures: Critical, Regulatory and Practical Reflections critically explores education data collection in schools in terms of what's happening currently and what needs to happen in future.

Sue spoke at the launch event timed to mark World Children’s Day on November 21st 2022. Sue commented that “I was delighted to be asked to speak and raise issues in relation to disabled children’s educational data given how often disabled children are left out of these important debates”.

Janja Komljenovic commented “This excellent publication is much needed in a fast-paced digital education environment. I am honoured to be part of it and engaging in research with colleagues on the role of investors in educational technology.”

Sue co-authored her chapter, “Can disabled children benefit from education data?”, with Dr Lyndsay Grant from the School of Education at the University of Bristol.

Janja co-authored her chapter, “Investigating the financial power brokers behind EdTech”, with Dr Huw Davies from the University of Edinburgh, Professor Rebecca Eynon from the University of Oxford and Dr Ben Williamson from the University of Edinburgh.
