Professor Julia Gillen and Dr Phil Benachour will share their real-life experiences working with participants in Africa and we will have small group discussions to (re-)think about the issues emerging from those projects.

Speaker 1: Julia Gillen

Speaker 2: Phil Benachour

We often feel enthusiastic about doing a TEL project with international partners in different cultural contexts. If it is the so-called Global South or developing countries, we feel even more so since we can help people and make a real positive impact on the world. However, it is not at all a simple task to develop a sensitive, inclusive, and collaborative relationship with international participants in TEL projects. Lancaster University academics, Professor Julia Gillen and Dr Phil Benachour will share their real-life experiences working with participants in Africa and we will have small group discussions to (re-)think about the issues emerging from those projects.

This event is organised by the Centre for Technology Enhanced Learning (CTEL) as part of the Department of Educational Research’s Celebrating International Collaboration series.
