Study Sports and Exercise Science at Lancaster and you'll really get into the science behind performance and rehabilitation.
Taught in a medical school, our curriculum is rigorous, evidence-based and will see you develop your scientific skills and understanding.
And, our new four-year placement course will see you spend your third year working with real sports and health organisations.
After that, you'll return to complete your fourth and final year of study on campus with even more industry-ready skills.
It means you'll graduate with the knowledge and confidence to stand out in the professional world of elite sport or health and rehabilitation.

When will I do my placement year?
Your placement year is built into the course: you will spend Year 3 on placement in sports or health organisations. There you will gain experience in working in real sport and exercise businesses and organisations that will help you stand out when you graduate.
You will return to Lancaster to complete your fourth year with renewed confidence and drive to achieve your career aspirations.

Students on our Sport and Exercise Science degree have completed placements with

How will I learn?
Small group teaching means your tutors know your name and you’ll become part of a welcoming community of people who love sport as much as you do. You’ll also get hands on experience from year one using our professional-grade sports testing and medical equipment.

Sport and Exercise Science with a Placement Year covers the same modules as our Sport and Exercise Science BSc (Hons) degree. The difference is you'll spend Year 3 on placement and complete your remaining modules in Year 4.
