Lancaster top university in the North West

Lancaster University is the highest ranked institution in the North West and 12th in the UK according to The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2023.

The University is also ranked second in the North West for Graduate Prospects, which ranks the percentage of graduates in highly skilled jobs or graduate-level study.

Several subjects are also ranked in the top ten in the UK including Communication and Media Studies, Linguistics 2nd; Social Work 3rd; Art and Design 4th; Physics 5th; Creative Writing, Sports Science and Subjects Allied to Medicine 6th; Drama, Dance and Cinematics 7th; Geography and Environmental Science 9th.

The new edition of The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2023 will be published as a supplement this weekend in The Sunday Times.

It provides rankings and profiles for 135 UK universities, making use of the latest data on everything from teaching and research quality to the student experience and graduate prospects.

Lancaster University has consistently featured near the top of the tables in recent years and is currently 11th in The Complete University Guide 2023 and 13th in The Guardian University Guide 2022

In addition, a strong performance in the 2021 Research Excellence Framework resulted in 91 per cent of Lancaster research being assessed as internationally excellent or world-leading.

Globally, Lancaster is ranked 122nd in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2022, and 146th out of more than 1,000 universities in the QS World University Rankings 2023.
