Research Overview

I am a fourth-year PhD student at Lancaster University, funded by the ESRC (Economic and Social Research Council). My thesis is developed with the British Red Cross and examines various aspects of the social organisaton of first aid provision and training to describe the ways in which first aid knowledge and provision is situated and bounded.

More specifically, my research uses STS theories, with a focus of boundaries and practices, to understand the different forms of social organisation that matter for first aid provision. My research aims to reveal the limits and edges of responsibility, care and traiing, to show how multiple intersections organise the ways in which first aid is structured and continues to change.

I have completed an MA Social Research and BA Hons Sociology degree, both from Lancaster University.
