Research Misconduct

Lancaster University is committed to the highest standards of research integrity and takes any concerns raised about the conduct of research undertaken by any staff or students very seriously.‌

The Office of Research Integrity has produced this helpful guide to factors that can drive people to commit research misconduct using quotes from closed cases.

The Procedure for investigating misconduct in research outlines the process that we follow when we receive any allegations of research misconduct.

All concerns or complaints about potential research misconduct will be reviewed in the first instance by our Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research and Enterprise, Professor Louise Heathwaite.

We fully investigate all allegations of research misconduct to ensure we maintain our culture of excellent research integrity.
