Research Overview

My current scientific aim is broadly centered to the investigation of terahertz science and technology. My main interest consists in the study of active plasmonic/metamaterial devices based on 2D materials, e.g. graphene, for the realization of integrated fast optoelectronic devices, such as amplitude, frequency and polarization modulators and detectors, for spectroscopic, imaging and communication applications. I have also ongoing research lines and collaborations which involve the use of THz quantum cascade laser sources for waveguiding and nanoscopy.
