Economist and Professor Zheng Wang from the University of Dundee will discuss 'The Cost of State-Coordinated Altruism in China'.
Professor Zheng Wang will look at a specific social programme in China to understand its cost on firms and the mechanisms underlying the patterns found. Professor Wang's work explores the dynamics between institutions and individual behaviour, focusing on how firms and individuals respond to policy environments, in both international and domestic contexts. His work utilises evidence-based research insights to shape the design of better social and economic policies.
Professor Wang received his BA and a first PhD from Zhejiang University, followed by a second PhD from the University of Nottingham.
This seminar is co-hosted by Lancaster University Confucius Institute and Lancaster University China Centre.
The seminar will take place in-person at Lancaster University Confucius Institute (The Roundhouse), room B02.
