Asia Careers Fair Concludes at Lancaster University, Bridging Opportunities between UK and China

In a collaboration between Lancaster University Confucius Institute (LUCI) and Lancaster University Careers, this year’s Asia Careers Fair was held on Thursday 2 November 2023 at the Learning Zone, Lancaster University. The event, which saw participation from 20 international as well as local companies and institutions, aimed to provide students with a global perspective and a unique platform to explore career opportunities and foster connections between their academic life and the professional world.
The Asia Careers Fair featured an array of companies and institutions, ranging from multinational corporations to innovative startups, covering sectors such as finance, education, technology, healthcare, catering and more. Companies joining the fair included KPMG, CPA Australia, British Council, Shulan College of Chinese Medicine, Pin Wei, Blick Rothenberg, J&J Consulting, Henan Talent Group Co. Ltd., Shandong Overseas Students Association, Qingdao Centre for Business & Commerce Co. Ltd., Student Circus, UK-Medu Ltd. and EIC UK, among others.
The Learning Zone buzzed with vibrance as approximately 200 students from various disciplines flocked to engage with representatives from prominent UK-based and Chinese organisations present at the fair. Throughout the event, students had the chance to interact with recruiters, learn about potential career paths and gain insights into the skills and qualifications sought by employers. The fair facilitated professional and networking opportunities, allowing students to connect with professionals and gain valuable advice for their future careers.
The success of the Asia Careers Fair underscores Lancaster University's ongoing commitment to enhancing the employability of its students. As the event drew to a close, the atmosphere was one of optimism, with students leaving inspired and equipped with new insights into the global job market.
