Chinese calligraphy exhibition

Chinese calligraphy pieces

Between 13th-17th March 2023, there was a Chinese calligraphy exhibition in the Lancaster University Library stairwell exhibition space.

The work displayed in the exhibition was produced by staff, students and local people who attended the Lancaster University Confucius Institute calligraphy course. The exhibition also contained some calligraphy pieces by two Lancaster University students who taught the calligraphy course, Yuze Sha and Stephen Chen.

The work showed a variety of different Chinese calligraphy techniques that the participants had learned over the course.

On Thursday 16th March, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Education, Wendy Robinson, visited the exhibition in the library and was very impressed by the work on display.

There was also a small celebration at the exhibition as an opportunity for the learners to view their work on display and celebrate their achievements.

Throughout the week, many people came to view the exhibition and it was very well received.
