The Chinese Ink Landscape Painting Exhibition is on display in the Lancaster University Library Stairwell Exhibitions Space (A Floor) until Sunday 21st January. The exhibition is free to attend for all.

The exhibition features work from students, staff and members of the public who attended the Chinese Ink Landscape Painting Course at Lancaster University Confucius Institute last term.

The participants enjoyed using Chinese brushes and ink on rice paper to create their landscape paintings based on Chinese traditional paintings.

The course was taught by Zi Quan, a fourth year PhD researcher at the Lancaster Institute for the Contemporary Arts (LICA).

This term, Zi Quan is running 2-hour Ink on Silk Painting Workshops for groups of 1-4 people.

In the workshop, participants will explore and develop their understanding of Chinese ink painting, learn to use traditional silk to paint, and have individual instruction on choosing either traditional or contemporary topics to paint with ink on silk.

This project is supported by Lancaster University Confucius Institute as part of the Lancaster China Engagement Fund.

If you would like to book a 2-hour workshop, please visit the Lancaster University Confucius Institute website: Ink on silk painting workshops for small groups .
