On Saturday 18th February, the Chinese Students and Scholars Association (CSSA) held a Chinese Festival of Culture at the Pendle College, Lancaster University. Haoqian Hu from Lancaster University Confucius Institute also helped at the event.

At the Chinese Festival of Culture, there was a variety of traditional Chinese activities for students to take part in such as majong, weiqi, fan painting, calligraphy and knot weaving. There were also Chinese musical performances for students to experience and enjoy. The students could also try on traditional Chinese clothing known as ‘Hanfu’.

The cultural event not only gave students the opportunity to know more about China, but also helped Chinese students feel a sense of home with so many fellows around.

Experiencing different fun activities, meeting new friends, a chance to socialise and giving the students a sense of belonging all helps with students’ wellbeing.

Lancaster University Confucius Institute aims to promote wellbeing on campus.
