I have a background in occupational psychology and my research specialism centres upon the implicit and explicit contracts employees have with their organization and employee social and work relationships. I am currently working on a project exploring the experiences of Army Reservists, and the attitudes and perceptions of their civilian employers, significant others, and regular army colleagues. Previous research has been in the field of organizational health and wellbeing and health and safety. My research interests include:

Current Teaching
I am a Lecturer in Organisational Health and Well Being. Currently I am a module convenor on DHR406 Healthy Organizations: The influence of the work environment on health and DHR523 Systematic approaches to literature reviews and evidence synthesis.
I have an interest in developing teaching excellence, as well as the development of my own teaching practice. I co-lead the faculty Teaching and Learning Forum, an initiative which promotes and enables the sharing of knowledge, experience and good practice of teaching and learning. I am a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA). I am currently the Blended Learning PhD programme moderator with oversight of the marking and moderation processes and outcomes across the programme. In addition I was the Director of Studies for the PhD in Organisational Health and Wellbeing between 2011 and 2014.
Research Overview
I am currently a co-investigator on a 30-month ESRC funded project researching “The Role of Army Reservists: An Analysis of their Experiences and the Attitudes and Perceptions of Civilian Employers, Regulars and Significant Others”. I was a co-investigator on a recently completed British Academy funded project researching “Woodland working: Intergenerational skills gained and shared in the volunteer workforce”.
