Research Overview

I am a Research Fellow in Health Research. I am also involved in the work of the Research Support Services (RSS) Hub delivered by Lancaster University and Partners.

I research health inequity and inequalitised experienced by marginalised groups and communities. I put strong emphasis on co-production and public engagement throughout the research cycle.

My most recent work focuses on peer support for people with learning disabilities who self-harm. I also research social determinants of health and health inequalities experienced by diverse people with learning disabilities.

Before joining Lancaster, I researched how older people with learning disabilities can be best supported across various models of support provision. Prior to that, my work centred on health and social inequalities experienced by LGBTQ+ people. I was involved in a project about experiences of healthcare of young trans and gender diverse people and their parents. My doctoral research examined conversion therapy in Poland.

I am interested in intersections of disability, gender, sexuality, ethnicity, socio-economic status, and other axes of difference.
