My research looks at how data from Internet of Things objects can be visualised and applied to the design and redesign of products and services. IoT means data gathering on a scale previously unachievable. This means we can identify waste, excessive energy use, production issues, resource use, environmental conditions and more datasets that can inform the design of products, buildings, machines and vehicles. I am specifically interested in how data-driven design can contribute to tackling climate change and environmental sustainability.
