In the first two weeks of September, Dr Oksana Afitska from LAEL department is giving a series of invited lectures, capacity building sessions and a Keynote speech at LAEL partner universities in China: Beijing Foreign Studies University and Beijing Jiaotong University.

She is also visiting Dalian University of Foreign Studies and delivering several knowledge exchange sessions there. The sessions cover the following topics:

• Measuring Impact in Interdisciplinary Research
• Brining Language into Content Classrooms: Multiple Facets of CLIL-oriented Pedagogies
• Use of Educational Translanguaging in Multilingual Classrooms by Monolingual Teachers: Trends and Issues

As part of the visit, Oksana raises Lancaster University’s profile and facilitates student and staff mobility between the universities.
