  • November 2022 | Surveillance Conversations - The discussions around surveillance will explore the ways in which the ability to produce, capture and analyse digital data at scale has led to profound transformations in economic, social, political, cultural and ecological systems. The next Surveillance Conversations will start up again after the new year.
  • October 2022 | Cyber Girls First - Security Lancaster was involved in setting up the Cyber Girls First visit. The girls got the opportunity to build robots, look around the quantum physics labs and set up small businesses which they then had to defend against cyber-attacks!
  • October 2022 | Halloween Fundraiser - Security Lancaster hosted a Halloween fundraiser for the following charities: The Trussell Trust foodbank, Afghan refugee charity, and The Olive Branch.
  • September 2022 | Systems Security Symposium - (SSG) held the first Annual Lancaster Symposium on Systems Security (LS3) organised by PhD students (Alexander Staves, Ovini Gunasekera, Xavier Hickman, and Sam Maesschalck) in the School of Computing and Communications.
  • July 2022 | Security Lancaster & DSI end of year party - Security Lancaster & DSI hosted a joint end-of-year lunch party at Grizedale Bar as a BBQ-style lunch, drinks and cake. This was well attended by both Institutes and it was lovely to see new collaborations forming.
  • July 2022 | CREST BASS2022 - Security Lancaster had the pleasure of sponsoring the BASS2022 conference that was held on 19th-21st July. The conference themes were: Risk and risk management, Eliciting and assessing information, and Deterrence and disruption.
  • July 2022 | Cyber Leadership Symposium - This Cyber Security Leadership Symposium and the new Cyber Executive MBA is aimed at senior executives from all backgrounds and industry sectors to help ensure their cyber security posture provides a competitive advantage to their organisation in response to cyber threats from both home and abroad.

  • May 2022 | Morocco Africa Project - Morocco and UK are nations at the forefront of renewable energy and green technologies. The workshop was a major step towards deepening the relationship between both countries in opportunities across business, energy, cyber security, and data science.
