Lancaster has entered the General Engineering subject rankings in the Complete University Guide’s 2021 league table for the first time and has placed 11th overall in the UK.

Students studying in our Engineering Department complete a general first year before progressing into their subject specialism for the remainder of their degree. This common first year gives our students the opportunity to learn general engineering principles and develop a strong breadth of skills and knowledge required for a range of engineering disciplines.

Our students love getting a feel for the different modules and Engineering disciplines before deciding which route to go down in their second year and beyond.
