An opportunity for our new arrivals enjoy a day exploring Grasmere in the Lake District along with College staff and your JCR executive officers.

This trip has now sold out.

This is a great opportunity to explore part of the Lake District. Grasmere is a charming village situated in the centre of the Lake District within the Westmoreland and Furness district of Cumbria.

Grasmere is famous for its stunning scenery and rich history including literary associations with William Wordsworth and offers plenty of attractions. It also offers a range of cozy pubs, cafes, and shops, where you can sample local delicacies, such as including a visit to the famous Grasmere Gingerbread shop (Gingerbread has been baked in the village dating back to 1854) and crafts.

Lake Grasmere is around 1 mile long, half a mile wide and 75 feet deep and is another popular tourist attraction, which Wordsworth described as 'The most loveliest spot than man hath found'.

This is a self-guided trip, so we do advise you research the destination and what to wear.

For those who have booked onto the trip, you are advised to arrive early as the coach will leave promptly at the advertised times:

10:00am | Leaving Campus - Furness College (Furness perimeter road, by the residences near the stores)

16:00pm | Leaving Grasmere (be at the drop-off point in good time, as the coaches will leave promptly)

Please arrange to collect your tickets before Thursday, from Jo Dickinson, Furness College Manager in A13, Furness College from Monday 30 September 2024 onwards. Event and further information will be sent to all those registered on Wednesday 3 October 2024.

No refunds available after 30 September 2024.
