Furness offers a number of different places for you to gather and socialise, all grouped around our courtyard in the main college building.

Furness has plenty of spaces for you to meet friends and unwind, all centred around the main college courtyard. One of the most popular is the TV Room—a relaxed spot open to all Furness students and staff, perfect for taking a break between lectures or even getting some quiet revision done.

The room includes comfy chairs and beanbags, a feature wall celebrating our graduands, and a large TV you’re welcome to use for anything from sporting events, films, to Eurovision or your favourite weekly show. The college offers a wide range of board games that are completely free to use, giving you a fun and relaxing way to unwind during your downtime between studies. You can find more board games in the back bar room and in the TV Room.

In addition, many of our college activities take place here too, including mindfulness sessions and crafting events, so keep an eye on the Furness events page for updates.

If you’re not sure where the TV Room is, just ask the College Team, JCR Exec, or the Porters and they’ll point you in the right direction. When using the space, please help keep it tidy and return any furniture you move so everyone can enjoy it.
