The 2024 ECOChallenge final took place on Thursday 14 March 2024.

Congratulations to the Lonsdale team who won with their idea for a unit that can be used by students to safely dry their laundry outdoors with the aim of saving money and reducing pollution. The team win the sustainability trophy and share £500 prize money.

The runners up were Furness and Fylde who formed a collaborative team, and were mentored by our Vice-Principal, Olga Gomez-Cash. They pitched their idea for EcoRewards linked to the recycling of soft plastics and to turn them into products such as mugs, crockery etc that could then be resold on campus. Students donating soft plastics could earn points to be spent on campus.

Alina, Clyde, Lottie and Ruby win £250 to share between them.

Thanks to the 9 Colleges co-lead College Managers Lorna Harrison and Jo Kendall, GreenLancaster, and Work in Progress for hosting this competition as part of the Intercollegiate Competitions and Challenges for 2023-24 and to all the people who have taken part.
