Random Acts of Kindness is an initiative to spread happiness, compassion, and positivity through small, unexpected acts of kindness.
A random act of kindness is doing something good for someone else 'just because' without being asked and without the need for recognition, or anything in return - simply to spread happiness and improve someone else's day.
No matter how big or small, being kind towards others, whether towards your friends, family, flat-mates, course-mates, lecturers, strangers or yourselves, goes a long way, and it doesn't take much time or have to cost any money.
Research shows that doing good for someone benefits our own and others mental health and wellbeing, for example, by reducing stress and improving mood. A random act of kindness can unexpectedly brighten up someone's day and create ripple effect of positivity.
