Lonsdale Bar and Events Room
Lonsdale is your very own pool bar with three match-quality tables. There is also a table tennis table and football table to use - see the Porters for equipment. The bar is used for events throughout the year and offers a range of standard and premium spirits, plus a selection of craft beers.
There is a kitchen located on the ground floor adjacent to the College offices. The kitchen includes a cooker, microwave, sink, fridges and freezers for use by Lonsdale students, in particular those travelling in from off-campus accommodation.
Located above the reception area, Lonsdale Study Room is open to all Lonsdale students. It has recently been refurbished to a high specification to be a dedicated study space.
Located above the bar, Lonsdale Cinema Room is open to all Lonsdale students. It has recently been refurbished to a high specification with comfy sofas and beanbags to be a dedicated space for watching media and holding presentations. Please contact Julie in the College Office (A09) during normal office hours to book this room and out of hours see the Lonsdale Porters.
Meeting Room and Piano Room
Located above the college offices, the meeting room is a bookable room that can be used by Lonsdale students for meetings. There is also a piano that can be used by students. Please contact Julie in the College Office (A09) during normal office hours to book this room and out of hours see the Lonsdale Porters.
Students who do not live on campus can hire a locker for the duration of the academic year, useful for storing belongings that you don’t want to carry with you all day. Lockers are limited and are available on a first come first served basis. To obtain an off-campus locker, see Julie in the College Office (£10 deposit payable).
Mail can be collected from the lockable post boxes in the Porters' Lodge. Mail is alphabetised and placed in the box which corresponds to the first letter of your surname. A key is issued by Lonsdale Porters when you arrive to take up residence in Lonsdale College accommodation. All students, whether resident or not should check the unlocked pigeon-holes beneath the post boxes as internal mail is sent to students via this method. Parcels and bank cards are kept by the Porters for collection. A parcel list is displayed on the serving hatch window of the Lodge and parcels will be handed over on production of a student card.
