Condensed Matter Webinar

Abstract: "The advent of quantum computers poses a serious threat on information security. A quantum attacker could easily break all widely used cryptographic protocols. Quantum key distribution (QKD) provides an effective solution to this, allowing parties to share encryption keys with unconditional security. In this seminar I will introduce the underlying concepts to QKD and elaborate on the advancements in the field of miniaturising QKD devices with integrated photonic platforms."
