The fusion rules of certain semi-direct products
We will talk about how to calculate the fusion rules of semi-direct products of the form G o Λ, where G is a compact group and Λ a finite group, i.e., how tensor products of irreducible representations decompose into irreducibles. We will see how projective representations come into play, and together with the dynamics of the action that we use to form the semi-direct products, one can express the fusion rules using the more fundamental data of the fusion rules of the projective representations of the finite group Λ and a natural reduction process related to the dynamics of the action. If time permits, I will say a few words on how one can generalize our result to the quantum group case.
