Title: Introduction to the tt* equations
Abstract: The tt* equations have their origin in physics (supersymmetry) and geometry (unfoldings of singularities). On the one hand they illustrate various classical topics in mathematics such as pde theory, integrable systems, the Stokes Phenomenon for ode, Lie groups and braid groups; on the other hand they make contact with modern developments such as the nonabelian Hodge Correspondence and categorical aspects of Mirror Symmetry. Using a simple example I will try to explain how these things come to be related.
