Editathon

• Have you ever seen a Wikipedia article you thought could be improved, but you didn't quite know how to help?
• Have you ever wanted to add a missing Wikipedia article on an important topic, but you weren't sure where to start?
• Have you made some small changes to Wikipedia, but you don't feel comfortable making major changes?
• Have you ever felt that you should improve the world by giving some of your time to Wikipedia?

Now's your chance! The Meeting will incorporate a Wikipedia editathon, a training event for prospective Wikipedia editors. The editathon will be focused on the history of British mathematics and topics related to the theme of the meeting.

Join us next Wednesday afternoon, 8 April, in Lab 1, Postgraduate Statistics Centre, Lancaster University. There will be a short presentation about why and how to edit Wikipedia at 4pm, followed by a hands-on editing session in the computer lab (with 24 computers), assisted by three experienced Wikipedia editors.

If you are not comfortable creating an account right now, there will likely be room to join in on the day; so feel free to drop by on Wednesday afternoon, even if you choose not to sign up.
